The HIT Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to the Board: Dr. Yvonne Gunsch and Markus A. Ott. The Board provides leadership for carrying out the Foundation’s mission to promote health information traceability and create the health currency of the future. Dr. Eberhard Scheuer, Founder & CEO, will serve as chairman of the 2019 Board. And, the Board appointed Andri Bäumler as the new Chief Financial Officer.


Yvonne Gunsch, MD has more than 20 years of international experience and held several leadership positions and board seats in the life science, healthcare, and finance sector. Among others, she was Head of Issuer & Investor Relations of the Swiss Stock Exchange, Head of Business Development of the Hirslanden Group, CFO of EffRx Pharmaceuticals, she presided the industry promotion initiatives „Swiss Biotech“ and „Swiss Medtech“, and was a member of the non-executive Board of Directors of NovImmune and zmed. Yvonne is a trained surgeon with a doctorate in Medicine from Zurich University. She further holds an executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and a Master of Corporate Finance from the University of Lucerne. She is fluent in German, English, Italian and French.


Markus A. Ott has more than 20 years of experience in the MedTech (mainly) and Pharma industry in various commercial (Marketing & Sales, eBusiness) as well as in non-commercial leadership roles (e.g. Global Head of Market Access & Policy). He has been a member of various executive boards, such as of MedTech Europe (European Medical Technology Trade Association), the SVDI (Swiss Diagnostic Trade Association) as well as of a European Patient Organization (EPPOSI). In addition, he acted as a lecturer at University programs. In the last couple of years, Markus was very much involved in the digitalization of the healthcare industry and associated new business models around “big data”, data security and its value to various stakeholders.


Andri brings along an extensive track record in financial controlling functions in the financial and consumer goods industries. He has led controlling and facility management teams of various sizes in the corporate real estate field. Currently, he is working part-time for a non-profit organization promoting sustainability in the public sector construction. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Gall and a master of advanced studies degree in real estate management from the University of Zurich.


Elizabeth Chee has decided to step down from her role as HIT Foundation COO. We wish her all the best as she commences the next chapter of her career.
